BANGUED, Abra – Leaders of the Joint Security Forces in Abra have issued warning to all civilians in the province to stop wearing any military outfits especially fatigue and camouflage military uniforms and their look-alike if they out the roads starting Monday, August 16.

The directive was aired earlier over the local radio stations here. The matter was presented during the Provincial Peace and Order Council (PPOC) meeting in July to inform and warn the public of the said order.

Both Col. Essel C. Soriano, commanding officer of the 503rd Infantry Brigade, Philippine Army and PSSupt. Joseph C. Adnol, Abra Provincial Police Director, have ordered their men to confiscate all military outfits and paraphernalia that are worn by civilians in implementation of the law prohibiting civilians from wearing the same to prevent misrepresentation and enforce public order and safety.

It can be noted that most of the crimes committed against life of persons have been carried out by “alleged men in uniform” because the criminals come in disguise with their “military-look-alike outfits” especially the fatigue and camouflage military uniforms.
